Backup priorities for shared entrance lighting
The lights may use different distribution from an individual dwelling. Define the intended coverage before choosing transfer equipment or assuming a unit-level connection reaches those areas.
List the entrance and route lighting people rely on, with available circuit information. The backup discussion should identify actual coverage and responsibility for shared equipment.
Who controls the priority lighting circuits?
Shared entrance lighting may be supplied and managed differently from a private dwelling's circuits. Its importance during an outage does not establish authority to alter that supply.
Identify ownership, current circuits and required operation before choosing transfer work. The proposal should distinguish private equipment from common lighting provisions so installation responsibilities and the limits of coverage remain understandable.
