Identifying the correct upstream supply
Provide labels and identify the project space. A new subpanel should not be planned from the nearest convenient enclosure without confirming its relationship to the installation.
Provide the unit or space identifier alongside equipment photographs. Labels without a clear relationship to the premises may not establish the proposed connection boundary.
Why not connect at the nearest panel?
Nearby distribution can belong to another occupant or common equipment. Location alone does not establish that it is an authorized or suitable source.
Confirming the supplying arrangement defines the proposed feeder's beginning and the areas affected. The estimate can then separate premises work from any common infrastructure alterations rather than implying access to the entire equipment group.
Details to include with this request
