Replacing fixtures within an existing system
Provide product information for both. Similar appearance or a matching connection does not establish that a replacement will operate suitably with the present system.
Collect the fixture, transformer and control model information available without opening equipment. Describe whether the goal is a like-for-like repair, a changed lighting effect or expansion of the system.
What must the replacement work with?
Fixtures, transformers and controls can have product-specific requirements. A similar shape or connection does not establish that a new unit suits the retained system.
Use available equipment identification to evaluate the combination before purchase. The scope can distinguish a compatible replacement from alterations to the supply or control arrangement, so the owner understands when changing one fixture affects more of the installation.
