Renovation with unclear existing circuit records
Share available records and known concerns before the scope is finalized. The estimate should distinguish planned new work from investigation of existing conditions that cannot be established from drawings alone.
Distinguish verified records from assumptions about concealed wiring. Evaluation may be needed before retained circuits can be incorporated into a clearly defined renovation scope.
What do incomplete records leave uncertain?
Old labels or invoices can support identification without verifying every concealed connection. A renovation plan may still depend on evaluation of the circuits expected to remain.
Keep confirmed information separate from assumptions in the work description. MKB can identify investigation needed before reuse and define new wiring separately, rather than imply that opening one part of the room establishes the condition of the entire retained installation.
