Coordinating excavation around service work
Mark the proposed route and related site work. Pricing should explain those responsibilities instead of treating every underground upgrade as the same trenching task.
Identify the site contractor and any available records of existing underground work. Ask who coordinates required utility-location steps and route access before excavation is scheduled; do not assume a clear surface means a clear route.
What makes two underground scopes different?
The route can cross different surfaces and existing site features, while access and utility coordination can vary. A distance or trench description alone does not establish the complete electrical installation.
A coordinated plan should identify connection points, electrical work and responsibilities for excavation and restoration. This makes shared site-work opportunities useful without assuming that another contractor's open route is automatically ready for service conductors.
