Backup for equipment with starting demands
Provide the manufacturer's data rather than only the running-watt figure. The intended operating combination and existing transfer arrangement should be evaluated with that equipment in mind.
List equipment likely to restart at the same time after an outage. Ask whether the proposed system needs an operating sequence or load-management provisions for that combination.
Why consider more than running watts?
Some equipment's startup behavior differs from its steady operation. Several automatic loads starting together can therefore present a different question from their separate running descriptions.
Review manufacturer information and the intended outage sequence with the electrical arrangement. The proposal should distinguish generator capability from connection work and explain relevant operating assumptions rather than treat a simple running-watt total as a complete design.
Details to include with this request
