Whole-house terminology and realistic load coverage
Describe the priority loads and operating expectations. Equipment capacity and any load-management provisions should be reviewed before accepting a broad whole-house description.
Ask what operating assumptions support the coverage description. Connected circuits and the loads that can run together are different aspects of a backup system.
What does connected coverage actually mean?
Transfer equipment may connect many circuits while the generator still has a finite operating capability. Connection coverage and simultaneous load capacity describe different things.
Define priority equipment and any required operating choices. The proposal should identify the transfer arrangement and relevant load-management provisions where applicable, allowing the owner to understand the system without treating whole-house terminology as a guarantee that everything runs together.
