Understanding an existing transfer arrangement
Its presence does not establish that a different generator or new load can be added unchanged. Compatibility and the existing connection arrangement need review before alterations are priced.
Keep the previous system's manuals and any service records with the new equipment specifications. Identify operational problems separately from requested changes so an alteration estimate does not silently become a diagnostic request.
What can be inferred from existing transfer equipment?
Its presence identifies only part of the system. Ratings, connections and the generator supplying it still need review for the proposed change.
Document the present equipment and any alterations since installation. MKB can distinguish a compatibility evaluation from new connection work, avoiding a proposal that assumes a previously usable arrangement automatically supports different equipment or expanded loads.
